Most care jobs drain you because they're just about getting through the shift. This one isn't. We're looking for someone who wants to genuinely transform the lives of young people with learning disabilities, work within a therapeutic model that actually works, and be part of a team that invests in your growth like you matter - because you do
Picture this: you walk into the home and you're not just a pair of hands. You're part of a carefully planned therapeutic approach where your consistent presence, your emotional support, and your belief in each young person creates real, lasting change. The children and young people you'll work with have learning disabilities, and they need someone who sees their potential and helps them reach it. That's you
You'll build genuine relationships with the young people you support - in their everyday routines, in their personal care, in the small moments that add up to trust. You'll work alongside our in-house therapeutic practitioners, so you're never figuring it out alone. Your care plans aren't filed away and forgotten; they're living documents that guide your daily interactions and show real progress over time
This provider has been doing this for over 30 years. They're family-owned, they're accredited Investors in People, and they actually invest in their staff. They've supported people into Social Work degrees, management qualifications, and continuous professional development. You won't hit a ceiling here; you'll find a ladder
What you will be doing
- Support young people with learning disabilities through daily routines, personal care and household activities with dignity and respect
- Build trusted relationships and provide the emotional support that helps each young person grow and feel secure
- Work within the home's therapeutic model, collaborating with therapeutic practitioners to deliver consistent, personalised care
- Follow individual care plans, contribute to their development, and maintain detailed, accurate records
- Work flexibly across shift and rota patterns including sleep-in shifts and weekends, as part of a professional care team
Why you will love working here
- Competitive salary up to £34,050 per annum including sleep-in allowance - real money for real work
- Extensive training and genuine career progression: this provider invests in staff who want to grow, supporting people into degrees and management qualifications
- Access to Paycare, Employee Assistance Programme, contributory pension, long service rewards and sick pay
- Work within a therapeutic model that actually works, supported by in-house practitioners and a team that values consistency
Is this you?
- Do you have experience working with children, young people, or adults with learning disabilities - or a genuine passion to start that journey?
- Are you working towards, or do you already hold, NVQ Level 3 in childcare or an equivalent qualification?
- Are you empathetic, patient, and genuinely positive - the kind of person who stays calm when things get challenging?
- Can you communicate clearly and work as part of a team, taking a proactive approach to problem-solving?
- Do you have a full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)?
