Most care jobs feel like you're just going through the motions, ticking boxes, moving on. This isn't one of them. We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to walk alongside individuals with learning disabilities, help them do the things that matter, and actually see them grow
Imagine a job where no two days are the same. One shift you're helping someone with personal care and building their confidence. The next, you're out in the community, supporting them with shopping, managing appointments, exploring what they love. You're not a task-ticker. You're the person they trust, the one who sees their potential and helps unlock it
The individuals you'll support need someone reliable and kind-hearted who sticks around and builds real connections. They need someone who sees dignity in every interaction and genuinely wants them to become more independent. That's you. And you'll work in a team that backs you up, provides proper training, and actually invests in your development. Whether you've got years of care experience or you're brand new to the sector, there's space for you here
You'll grow too. The provider offers ongoing learning opportunities and will train you properly from day one. If you've got an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, brilliant. If not, don't worry. If you've got a nursing or childcare background, that helps. But what matters most is that you care, you communicate well, and you're ready to make a real difference
What you will be doing
- Support clients with daily living activities - personal care, washing, dressing, managing their environment with dignity and respect
- Help with practical tasks that build independence: shopping, managing bills, attending medical appointments, exploring the local community
- Develop genuine relationships with the individuals you support, becoming someone they can rely on and trust
- Perform safe moving and handling, including heavy lifting tasks where needed, and use your valid driver's licence to transport clients when required
- Keep clear records and communicate effectively with the team and families about how your clients are doing and what you've observed
Why you will love working here
- Pay of £12.21 to £12.55 per hour, with flexible hours between 25 and 40 per week so you can build the rota that works for your life
- Work across day and night shifts, including weekends and weekdays - you choose what suits you best
- A company pension to start building your future, free parking, and the chance to work in casual dress
- Proper training and real development opportunities so you grow in this role, not just repeat it
- A referral programme where you can earn rewards for bringing good people into the team, because you'll know who's right for this work
Is this you?
- Is this you: someone with at least a year's experience in care or patient care, ideally supporting people with disabilities, but if you're new to the sector and keen, we'll train you properly
- You've got strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build real rapport with clients and their families - you listen, you empathise, you show up
- You're physically able to perform safe heavy lifting and moving and handling, and ideally you hold a valid driver's licence so you can support clients with transport
- You communicate clearly, both when you're talking to people and when you're writing things down - documentation and reporting matter
- You're genuinely compassionate. You actually want people with disabilities to achieve their best quality of life, not just survive it
