Most care roles ask you to manage chaos on a shoestring, with burnt-out teams and young people whose real needs go unmet. This is different. We're looking for someone ready to step into a home where emotional and behavioural difficulties aren't seen as problems to contain, but as invitations to do skilled, therapeutic work that genuinely changes lives

Picture this: you're part of a team that actually knows what it's doing. Everyone here has trained in the same therapeutic model, so when a young person is struggling, you're not improvising alone. You're supported by colleagues who understand the approach, backed by management that invests in your development, and working within a framework that treats emotional needs as seriously as physical ones

The young people you'll support have experienced rejection and instability. In this home, they get consistency, respect, and adults who believe in their potential. You'll see the difference it makes when a teenager realises someone is genuinely in their corner. That's the work. Not paperwork theatre or passing them on to the next service, but real relationships built on trust and a clear therapeutic model

You'll grow here too. With a Diploma level 3 or equivalent in hand, you'll be part of a team committed to continuous improvement, both of the home's standards and your own practice. That's how you go from a care worker who clocks in and clocks out to a practitioner who knows exactly why they do what they do, and sees the impact

What you will be doing

  • Deliver consistent emotional and physical care following the home's therapeutic model, engaging in the training that underpins it so you truly understand what you're doing and why
  • Plan and run activities that matter, creating a comfortable and safe home environment where young people feel they belong, not just exist
  • Build respectful, empowering relationships with the young people, working to promote good relationships between them and encourage genuine achievement
  • Work collaboratively across teams using a multi-agency approach, liaising with social workers, schools, health services and families to support each young person's whole picture
  • Maintain the high standards of care and individual practice expected by National Quality Standards, continuously reflecting on how you can improve both the home and your own practice

Why you will love working here

  • Work within a clear therapeutic model so you understand exactly what you're doing and the impact it's having, rather than winging it
  • Join a team that's committed to their own development and the home's continuous improvement, where your ideas actually matter
  • Support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a setting where that complexity is treated with real skill and respect, not frustration
  • Grow your practice within a framework designed to meet National Quality Standards, building genuine expertise in residential care

Is this you?

  • You've got a Diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, with experience working with children and young people in a residential setting or with looked after children
  • You hold a full driving licence and can evidence two work references plus a character reference
  • You're enthusiastic and genuinely committed to providing a supportive, nurturing environment, not just going through the motions
  • You're honest about your own development, willing to learn the home's therapeutic model properly, and genuinely interested in improving both the service and yourself
  • You have a clear enhanced DBS for working with children and can pass our recruitment checks
