Most care jobs ask you to do everything on a shoestring budget and expect you to care anyway. This one is different: you'll work with young adults with learning disabilities in a real home where your employer actually invests in your growth, pays you fairly, and gives you the time to build the relationships that matter. If you're someone who thrives on genuine connection and wants work that means something, keep reading

Picture this: you're supporting a young person to access the activities and community links that matter to them. You're not rushing between five homes or juggling impossible caseloads. You're doing 1-1 work, sometimes 2-1, which means you can actually see the impact of what you do. You're there when they try something new, when they build confidence, when they connect with the world around them. That's the day-to-day here

The home believes in you too. They'll fund your learning properly: we're talking level 2 through to level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care, internal leadership competency sessions, and real qualifications that open doors. A contributory pension scheme means they're thinking about your future, not just this week's roster. The Employee Assistance Programme is there 24/7 if you need support. This is a provider with over 35 years' track record, and they've built something stable that actually values the people who do the work

Your team is purposeful and progressive. Everyone's focused on the same thing: helping the young adults you support have a voice, achieve their goals, and live more independently. You're not on an island. There's structure, there's support, and there's genuine respect for what you bring

What you will be doing

  • Provide 1-1 and 2-1 support to young adults with learning disabilities, building relationships and promoting their wellbeing
  • Support people to explore and pursue their interests, hobbies and community links with real enthusiasm and commitment
  • Help develop and maintain community and leisure pursuits that build independent living and life skills
  • Deliver personal care support as needed, always with dignity and respect
  • Work flexibly across a rota that includes days, evenings and waking nights, adapting your approach to the needs of the people you support

Why you will love working here

  • £13.00 per hour for 35 hours per week: proper pay for proper work, not the poverty wages that plague this sector
  • Contributory pension scheme because we're thinking about your long-term future, not just filling shifts
  • Paid learning and development that actually moves your career forward: level 2 to level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care, plus internal leadership training
  • 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme so you have real support when you need it
  • Generous referral scheme, exclusive employee discounts on shopping and leisure, and a workplace that champions diversity and inclusion

Is this you?

  • Are you someone who thrives on building genuine relationships and genuinely cares about helping others achieve their goals?
  • Can you work independently, multitask, and stay organised and calm when things are busy, all while keeping a positive attitude?
  • Are you flexible, hands-on, and willing to learn new things quickly, whether that's about the person you're supporting or the role itself?
  • Do you have a driving licence (manual)? Ideally yes, but we'd love to hear from you either way
  • Are you ready to influence and communicate well with colleagues, the people you support, and people in the community?
