Most care jobs leave you exhausted and undervalued. This one is different. We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to help people with complex needs build independence and real lives in their communities - and we'll pay you fairly, support your growth, and actually listen when you say the work matters
Picture yourself working three days a week in supported housing in the Newquay area, building real relationships with individuals who need tailored, person-centred support. You're not just managing their day - you're helping them access education, work, social opportunities, and genuine independence. Some days you're problem-solving with colleagues and partner agencies; other days you're conducting risk assessments and maintaining the professional boundaries that keep everyone safe. No two days are the same, and you're genuinely making a difference
The home values collaboration above everything. You'll work as part of a team that celebrates each person's strengths and backs you up when things get tough. The provider is one of the largest employers in the South West with 1,800 colleagues and real investment in learning and development. They believe in nurturing local talent and giving people the autonomy to thrive - not just survive
You'll be confident in lone working, flexible when the rota shifts, and able to stay positive under pressure. This role sits on a rolling four-week rota, Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm (including weekends and bank holidays). It's 22.2 hours per week - genuine part-time work that fits a life outside care, not a trap dressed up as flexibility
What you will be doing
- Deliver person-centred support to individuals with complex needs, helping them achieve positive outcomes and independence
- Build trusting relationships with service users, colleagues and partner agencies to ensure seamless support and good communication
- Encourage and support people to engage in social, educational and employment opportunities so they don't become isolated
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, maintain professional boundaries and uphold safeguarding policies to keep everyone safe
- Keep accurate records and manage administrative tasks with confidence, often working alone but always part of the wider team
Why you will love working here
- Start with 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days with length of service, plus the option to buy up to 5 extra days (pro-rated for your part-time hours)
- Up to 9% employer pension contributions with a Defined Contribution scheme so your future is genuinely secure
- Health care cash plan worth up to £1,100 a year, virtual GP services, discounted gym memberships, Blue Light Card retail discounts, and free flu jabs
- Real investment in your learning and development - personal and professional growth isn't just words here, it's funded
- Mental health support, enhanced sick pay, wellness campaigns, four paid volunteering days a year, family support policies including new child payment, plus Cycle to Work and Car Benefit schemes
Is this you?
- You understand support needs and support planning - you've done this work before or studied it seriously
- You have real experience with risk assessment and risk management in a care or support setting
- You're a natural communicator who builds rapport quickly and genuinely listens to people
- You're comfortable working alone and confident in your professional judgment, but you're also a strong team player who asks for help when needed
- You're resilient, adaptable, flexible with your time, and you can stay positive when things get challenging
- You have good computer skills and accurate record-keeping habits - detail matters in this role
