Most care jobs ask you to manage crises and paperwork, then send you home drained. This one is different: you'll be part of a team genuinely building independence, teaching life skills, and watching vulnerable adults gain the confidence to live fuller lives. If you're ready to do work that actually matters, read on

Picture this: you're in the kitchen with a service user who's never cooked a proper meal. You're not just handing them food; you're showing them how to plan, shop, prepare, and feel proud of what they've made. That's the daily reality here. Every shift, you're creating the small moments that shift someone from dependence to self-reliance

The home supports young adults and adults with complex needs - learning disabilities, mental health challenges, behaviour that others find difficult to manage. This isn't easy work, but it's honest work. You'll see real change. Service users gain confidence. They learn daily living skills. They integrate socially. You become the person they trust when things get hard

Our team gets it. We're not running a factory; we're running a home where people actually know each other's names, where your input matters, and where supporting someone's independence is the whole point. You'll write reports that reflect real progress, tackle challenging behaviour with patience and skill, and finish shifts knowing you've moved someone forward

What you will be doing

  • Support service users with everyday living tasks - cooking, cleaning, personal care - always with an eye on building their skills and independence rather than doing things for them
  • Drive service users to appointments, activities and social events, keeping them connected to their community
  • Respond thoughtfully to challenging behaviour, using calm approaches to de-escalate and support emotional regulation
  • Write clear, honest reports on service users' progress, behaviour and wellbeing so the team stays aligned
  • Encourage social integration and confidence-building through life skills activities tailored to each person's agreed care package

Why you will love working here

  • Join a genuinely friendly team where your experience is valued and your input shapes how you support each person
  • Work in a supported living setting where the focus is real: independence, life skills, social integration and quality of life
  • Be trained to handle complex needs and challenging behaviour with confidence and compassion
  • See tangible progress. Watch service users gain skills, confidence and self-reliance. That's the impact you'll have every week

Is this you?

  • Is this you: at least one year of genuine experience working in a care setting, ideally with learning disabilities, complex needs, mental health or challenging behaviour?
  • You care deeply - not performatively, but actually. Compassion and empathy aren't words you use in interviews; they're how you show up every day
  • You're hardworking and supportive by nature. You see a problem and roll up your sleeves; you don't wait to be told
  • You can stay patient and present when behaviour is difficult, and you understand that challenging behaviour usually means something isn't working for that person
  • You're happy to get hands-on: cooking, cleaning, personal care, driving - no job is beneath you because every job builds independence
