Most care jobs feel like you're managing crises on a budget. This one isn't. We're looking for someone who wants to genuinely change young people's lives - to be the steady adult in the room when everything else has been chaos - and we're willing to invest in your growth, your qualifications and your wellbeing to make that happen
Picture this: you're in a home where young people have had placement after placement, adults who've let them down, systems that didn't listen. You arrive and you're different. You're consistent. You show up, you listen, you help them cook a proper meal, you notice when they're interested in something and you nurture it. Over months, you watch them rebuild trust. You watch them believe they might actually have a future. That's the work here
This isn't a provider that cuts corners on training. From day one you'll be supported to achieve your Childcare Diploma - fully funded, fully enrolled - while experienced managers and clinical supervisors have your back every step. The staff here describe it as 'not like coming to work, feels like visiting someone's house.' That's not corporate speak. That's Ofsted noting what actually happens when leaders value their people
You'll be part of a team of over 1,000 care professionals across London and the East of England, all working towards the same mission. You won't be alone. You won't be unsupported. And you won't plateau - there's real progression available as you develop in the role
What you will be doing
- Provide emotional and social support to young people, helping them build meaningful relationships and connect with their local communities
- Plan, shop and prepare varied, well-balanced meals with the young people, involving them in domestic routines where appropriate
- Safeguard and protect the welfare of the young people at the centre of everything you do
- Encourage and support the development of each young person's individual interests and strengths
Why you will love working here
- Salary of £30,277.23 to £35,971.18 per annum, plus additional sleep-in payments and waking night contracts available
- Full funding and enrolment to achieve your Childcare Diploma - genuine investment in your professional development
- 224 hours annual leave per annum including bank holidays, monthly clinical and professional supervision, and access to therapeutic support
- Refer a Friend scheme with unlimited £500 bonuses, company pension, and discounts across over 740 retailers
- A team environment where leaders genuinely value you, support your progression, and create a workplace that feels less like 'work' and more like being part of something that matters
Is this you?
- Are you someone who genuinely wants to help young people reach their potential, even when they've experienced complex needs or emotional and behavioural difficulties?
- Can you be consistent, patient and present - the kind of adult who shows up and stays steady?
- Do you have experience supporting vulnerable young people, or are you willing to learn and develop in this role?
- Are you ready to commit to your own growth, including achieving a recognised childcare qualification?
Applications close on 12 October 2026. Great roles like this are filled quickly, so the sooner you apply the better.
Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
