Most support work roles feel like you're just processing tasks and ticking boxes, but this one is different. You'll be working in a specialist supported living service where your job is genuinely about helping people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and acquired brain injuries to build better lives and real independence. If you've got experience with challenging behaviours and a UK driving licence, and you're ready to see the actual difference you can make, this could be your next move
Picture this: you're helping someone create their own person-centred plan - their vision for how they want to live their life. You're not just following a template; you're using communication tools that actually give people a voice, then building the real support around what they actually want. That's the day-to-day here. You're prompting independence, teaching life skills like budgeting and shopping, supporting hobbies and interests, and being there with physical and emotional guidance when it matters
You'll be part of a team that works hand-in-hand with GPs, community nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. It's proper joined-up care, not siloed work. Whether it's accompanying someone to a health appointment, administering medication, helping with personal care or domestic tasks, you're always working towards one goal: helping people thrive in their own way
And here's what makes staying matter: the provider invests in you. You get paid-for QCF qualifications that genuinely open doors to career progression. There's Circle for your wellbeing - exercise advice, counselling, and savings on everyday purchases. You get 5.6 weeks' annual leave (including bank holidays), a NEST pension with matched contributions up to 3%, a Blue Light discount card on the high street and days out, and they cover your Enhanced DBS check completely. This is a Real Living Wage Employer with pay scales that actually recognise your experience
