Most care jobs feel like you're doing the same thing day in, day out, with little chance to grow or truly shape a young person's future. Here's the thing: this role is different. You'll be part of a team that invests in you as much as you invest in the children, with proper training, clinical support, and a genuine pathway to develop your career

Imagine walking into work knowing that what you do today will genuinely change a child's life. That's what happens in our residential homes. These aren't just placements; they're safe havens for young people who've experienced instability and disruption. You'll be the adult who helps them learn to trust again, who shows them what a stable, nurturing environment feels like, and who helps them build the social skills and relationships they need to move forward

The best part? You won't be winging it alone. Our homes are built on proper professional support. You'll get bespoke training designed specifically for the young people in your home, monthly clinical and professional supervision with people who understand this work, and access to therapeutic support when you need it. Ofsted consistently praises our team for the quality of care and the genuine commitment of staff who feel genuinely supported by their managers

This is an organisation that's Investors in People Gold Awarded because they mean it. Staff develop here. Some are doing child counselling courses. Others are trained in trauma-informed practice, self-injury, exploitation awareness. You'll collaborate with social workers, therapists, and a team that actually wants you to progress and grow. Real career development, not empty promises

What you will be doing

  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people in the residential home, providing the stable, nurturing environment they need after disruption and instability
  • Supporting day-to-day life: homework, household chores, meals, and building the practical life skills young people need
  • Encouraging positive relationships and social development, helping children learn to interact and connect in healthy ways
  • Collaborating with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to provide joined-up, person-centred care
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, appropriate residential setting that feels like a home, not just a placement

Why you will love working here

  • Salary of £33,447.67 to £34,762.90 (including sleep-ins), plus a company pension
  • Full training provided with qualification, plus bespoke training designed for the young people in your home and ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Monthly clinical and professional supervision, access to therapeutic support, and a manager who's genuinely available
  • Practical benefits: meals included, employee discount scheme with over 740 retailers, and unlimited refer-a-friend bonuses of £500 each
  • Join an Investors in People Gold Awarded organisation where staff feel supported, valued, and genuinely excited about coming to work

Is this you?

  • Are you genuinely drawn to making a difference? This role needs compassion, patience, and real empathy for young people who've had a rough time
  • Can you work as part of a team? You'll be collaborating daily with colleagues, professionals, and a manager who has your back
  • Are you ready to learn? Full training is provided, and you'll develop skills specific to the needs of the young people in your home
  • Do you have resilience and the ability to reflect on your practice? Supervision and team meetings are regular chances to learn and improve, not tick boxes
