Most care jobs promise 'rewarding work' and then leave you unsupported, underpaid and burnt out. This isn't one of them. We're recruiting Support Workers for a specialist service where your development matters as much as the people you support, where the pay reflects the Real Living Wage, and where you'll actually have time to make a genuine difference
Imagine turning up to work knowing you're part of a team that genuinely invests in you. The people you'll support have learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs or acquired brain injuries, and they need someone patient, present and real. You'll help them build skills, chase their interests, manage their health and learn the practical stuff that means independence: budgeting, cooking, getting to appointments. It sounds simple, but it's profound
Here's the thing about this service: it's built on person-centred support. That means no two days are identical. You're not just ticking boxes; you're prompting independence, providing emotional support, and genuinely enabling people to live fulfilling lives. Whether you're helping someone with personal care, supporting them through physical and emotional challenges, or teaching life skills over a cup of tea, you're doing work that changes someone's world
Crucially, you don't need prior care experience. We run a full induction and paid introductory programme, and we offer real career development including QCF qualifications that open doors to genuine progression. The provider is a Real Living Wage Employer, which means fair pay that's transparent and reflects your qualifications. Add in 5.6 weeks' annual leave, a matched pension contribution, Circle wellbeing support, access to a Blue Light discount card, and a £500 referral bonus, and you've got something genuinely different
What you will be doing
- Provide day-to-day support and be part of the routine for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and acquired brain injuries
- Support people to develop independence and live fulfilling lives, including accompanying them to appointments and helping with health care needs and medication
- Teach and encourage life skills like budgeting, paying bills and shopping, and help with domestic tasks including cooking and cleaning
- Provide physical and emotional support and guidance, with personal care as required
Why you will love working here
- Pay of £13.45-£14.15 per hour, dependant on your experience and qualifications, as a Real Living Wage Employer
- 5.6 weeks of annual leave inclusive of 8 public holidays, plus a matched pension contribution of up to 3% and a paid Enhanced DBS check
- Full induction and introductory programme paid for by the provider, with genuine career development through QCF qualifications

- Work for a provider committed to safe, supportive services and the Armed Forces Covenant
Is this you?
- Are you a full UK driving licence holder? It's essential for this role
- Do you have manual handling experience, or are you willing to learn? It's desirable but not a dealbreaker
- Can you commit to flexible, bank-based work and turn up ready to adapt to the needs of the people you support?
- Are you over 18? (Due to the nature of the work, this is a requirement.)
- Are you warm, patient and genuinely interested in helping adults with complex needs build independence and resilience?
