Most care jobs feel like you're just clocking in and clocking out, watching the clock more than the young people in front of you. This isn't one of them. We're looking for someone who genuinely sees care work as their calling, someone who can build real relationships and make a tangible difference in a close-knit home where you're valued as part of the team, not just another pair of hands
Imagine walking into work knowing that the young people you support recognise you, trust you, and look forward to seeing you. That's what happens here. You'll be part of a small, settled team in a supportive environment where your presence actually matters, where the children know your name and your face, and where the impact of your work is visible every single day
This home operates on a real open-door culture. Your voice counts. You'll be encouraged to share concerns, shape how things work, and you'll have genuine one-to-one supervision and personal development plans that actually help you grow. This isn't tick-box care, it's care done properly
You'll get free comprehensive training from day one, including NVQ and specialist dementia training, plus access to advice from a resident general and mental health nurse, and an in-house occupational therapist. You won't be left to figure it out alone. The home invests in you because they know that great care workers are the heartbeat of a great home
What you will be doing
- Provide day-to-day care, support and encouragement to young people in the home, building genuine relationships and understanding their individual needs
- Help with personal care, daily living skills and activities that support the young people's wellbeing and development
- Contribute to a safe, calm and nurturing home environment where the young people feel secure and valued
- Work as part of a small team, attending meetings where your views and ideas are actively sought and listened to
- Engage with training and supervision to develop your skills and understanding of best practice in residential child care
Why you will love working here
- Competitive hourly pay with flexible hours that actually suit your life
- Free, comprehensive ongoing training including NVQ and specialist qualifications, because your development matters
- A health care plan with WPA, free uniform and a pension scheme
- 24-hour access to your online work schedule so you can plan your time properly
- Real one-to-one supervision, personal development plans, and access to an in-house occupational therapist and mental health nurse
Is this you?
- Are you someone who genuinely cares about young people and sees care work as more than just a job?
- Do you have experience working in a care setting, whether residential, domiciliary or community-based?
- Can you be reliable, patient and calm, even during challenging moments?
- Are you happy to work flexibly and engage with ongoing training and professional development?
- Do you thrive in a team environment and feel comfortable speaking up about concerns or ideas?
