Most manager roles in residential care feel like you're fighting the system instead of leading it. You want to build something, not just maintain it. This is a chance to step into a Registered Manager position where your decisions genuinely shape the lives of young people with complex needs, and where the organisation actually invests in your growth

You'll be running a children's home that specialises in complex emotional and behavioural support. This isn't generic childcare - you're working with young people who need real skill, real patience, and real expertise. Solo and small residential placements mean you know each child intimately and can tailor your approach. That's the kind of work that stays with you

The organisation is expanding and progressive. You won't be a figurehead rubber-stamping policies written by head office. You'll have genuine influence over standards, safeguarding practice, care planning, and the direction of your home. Your voice matters here

They're serious about developing you as a leader. Fully funded specialist training and leadership development up to Level 7 is built into the role. Clear progression pathways mean you can move into home Manager or Regional Manager roles if you want to. This is a platform, not a dead end

You'll have real support behind you: dedicated quality, compliance, recruitment, and wellbeing teams who actually do the work so you can focus on leadership and the young people. Flexible working on a 40-hour contract, performance bonuses linked to measurable young people's progression, and private healthcare round out a package built for someone serious about this career

  • Lead safeguarding and individual care planning for each young person, ensuring their complex needs are understood and met through personalised support
  • Set the tone for your team: recruit, develop, and manage staff who share your commitment to young people's wellbeing and measurable progression

Why you will love working here

  • Salary of £50,000 - £70,000 depending on your experience, plus performance bonuses linked to young people's measurable progression

  • You've got a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes for children with complex emotional and behavioural needs - you know how to work with difficulty and see real change
  • You know CIW regulatory standards inside out and you take safeguarding seriously: it's not a compliance box, it's how you work every day
