Most management roles in residential care feel like you're managing a system, not changing lives. This is different. You'll lead one or two solo placement homes where every day you're directly shaping a young person's future, while building a career that actually pays you for the impact you create

Imagine running a home where you know every young person by name, understand their exact needs, and watch them progress because of the stability and expertise you've built. Solo placements mean deep relationships, real accountability, and the chance to see your care decisions turn into actual life-changing outcomes. That's what this role offers

You'll earn between £50,000 and £70,000 depending on your experience and qualifications, plus a commission structure that rewards you directly when your young people progress. This isn't a fixed salary that ignores your excellence - this home genuinely ties your earnings to the quality of care and development you deliver

The support you'll receive is serious. You'll have access to paid specialist training, mentoring from experienced practitioners, and a clear pathway to develop your skills all the way up to Level 7 (senior leadership beyond degree level). The internal teams - Quality and Compliance, Impact and Well-being, Mobilisation and Implementation - are there to back you up, not bog you down

Beyond the salary and commission, you get free private healthcare, mileage paid for business travel, and the flexibility to work your 40 hours across a pattern that suits you. There's also a £1,000 referral scheme if you know someone brilliant who should join us. This provider genuinely values you - not in words, but in how they've structured the whole package

What you will be doing

  • Lead the day-to-day operations and overall management of one or two solo placement homes, ensuring they're safe, nurturing, and genuinely supportive environments
  • Own regulatory compliance and safeguarding, keeping the homes to the standard that keeps young people protected and inspectors satisfied
  • Develop bespoke care plans and support strategies tailored to each young person's specific needs, progression, and life goals
  • Champion the progression and well-being of both your young people and your team, using your leadership to unlock potential in everyone around you

Why you will love working here

  • Salary of £50,000 - £70,000 plus a commission scheme based directly on your young people's progression and development - your excellence gets paid
  • Paid specialist training and a clear career pathway up to Level 7 (senior leadership qualifications beyond degree level), with regular mentoring and upskilling built in
  • Free private healthcare, mileage reimbursement for business travel, flexible working hours within your 40-hour contract, and a £1,000 referral bonus
  • Real support from specialist internal teams covering quality, compliance, well-being, and implementation - you're never managing alone
  • The chance to work in solo placements where your impact is visible, measurable, and genuinely life-changing for a young person

Is this you?

  • You hold a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management of Adults and/or Children (or you're ready to work towards it)
  • You have at least 24 months of hands-on experience in a residential childcare setting, with proven success in a managerial or supervisory role
  • You're someone who genuinely believes in the young people you work with - you see potential where others see problems, and you have the patience and skill to help them reach it
  • You're organised, compliant-minded, and comfortable with the accountability that comes with running a home - but you're also warm, human, and willing to get stuck in when needed
