Most management roles in family support feel like you're drowning in admin while the real work - the life-changing conversations with parents and the chance to lead a team that matters - gets squeezed into the margins. This is different. We're looking for a Registered Manager who will lead our Family Assessment service with genuine compassion, hands-on leadership, and the space to do the work that actually changes family outcomes

You'll be the heart of a Family Assessment Centre where parents come to rebuild confidence, learn essential skills, and find stability for their children. Every day, you'll work with families at turning points - supporting them through practical parenting advice, emotional guidance, and the kind of mentoring that sticks. This isn't transactional care; it's about stepping into their lives, understanding their world, and helping them see what they're truly capable of

Leading the team here means you get to shape a positive culture from the ground up. You'll mentor staff who are just starting out, develop people's confidence and professional growth, and create an environment where high-quality care isn't a checkbox - it's the way things are done. You'll have real autonomy over recruitment, induction, training, and performance management, building a team that reflects your values and your vision

This provider has been trusted in social care for over 25 years, with a genuine commitment to person-centred support across Family Assessment, Children's Residential Care, Supported Living, and Learning Disabilities services. They value their people as much as they value the families they support - and that shows in how they invest in your development, empower your leadership, and create a collaborative culture where you're never just managing a rota

What you will be doing

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Family Assessment Centre, creating a safe, welcoming, and compliant environment for families and staff
  • Assess and support parents to promote the safety, wellbeing, and development of their children, offering practical advice and emotional guidance tailored to each family's needs
  • Safeguard children and parents through effective assessment, care planning, regular reviews, and proactive risk management
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire your staff team - managing recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing professional development while delivering supervision and performance management
  • Manage staffing rotas to maintain safe staffing levels and continuity of care, thriving in a fast-paced setting with resilience and a solution-focused approach
  • Work collaboratively with families to help them achieve positive outcomes and long-term stability, acting as a positive role model who demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and commitment to exceptional care

Why you will love working here

  • Real autonomy to lead a Family Assessment service your way, with genuine scope to shape culture, mentor staff, and deliver person-centred care that changes family outcomes
  • Professional development built in - support to complete or progress your Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, plus ongoing training and growth opportunities
  • Join a provider with 25 years of trusted expertise across multiple specialist services (Family Assessment, Children's Residential Care, Supported Living, Learning Disabilities), where collaboration and continuous improvement aren't buzzwords - they're how things actually work
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your resilience and adaptability are valued, and where you'll be part of a team culture that celebrates success and believes in helping both people and careers grow

Is this you?

  • Are you experienced in working with Ofsted in a children's or young person's residential environment? This is essential
  • Do you hold a Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma (or equivalent), and either hold or are committed to completing a Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for health and social care, children and young people services?
  • Have you got a minimum two years' experience working in Family Assessment or a similar field, with a track record of leading and motivating a staff team?
  • Are you empathetic, nurturing, and supportive - someone with strong mentoring skills who prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children above all else?
  • Can you remain calm under pressure, communicate with real empathy, and build the kind of positive, effective relationships that help families and staff feel genuinely supported?
