Most care home managers are stretched thin, firefighting between regulations, budgets and staffing. This one is different: you'll lead a brand-new, purpose-built home where the infrastructure, team and values are already aligned to let you do what you do best, manage people and deliver excellence

You'll be stepping into a home that's been designed from the ground up with resident wellbeing at its heart. This isn't a tired conversion or a stretched operation trying to do more with less. The physical environment supports your work: a intimate, luxurious setting that attracts residents and families who value quality, which means you're managing occupancy from a position of strength, not desperation

The support structure here actually works. You'll have a Deputy Manager and Administrator embedded in the home with you, plus dedicated Operations and Central teams backing you externally. That means you can focus on leadership, culture and strategic growth, not drowning in admin. The home is part of a family-run group that's been named Health Investor's Residential Large Care Provider of the Year twice in the last two years, and has sat in the Top 20 for eight consecutive years. These aren't accident: they're the result of a values-driven organisation that genuinely invests in its people

This is a business that walks its talk. It's B Corp certified, a Real Living Wage employer, and ranked No.1 in the UK for workplace wellbeing. Your team will be supported, fairly paid and proud to work here. A 4.7 Glassdoor rating and 4.5 on Indeed tells you staff stay because they believe in what they're doing. That culture makes your job infinitely easier

What you will be doing

  • Lead and set the tone for the home's staff team, building a culture rooted in kindness, compassion and empathy that filters into every interaction with residents and families
  • Ensure the home meets all CQC requirements and maintains the high standards of care that attract Outstanding ratings, not just adequate ones
  • Manage the home's budget, hit financial targets and leverage marketing skills to maintain full occupancy and grow the service
  • Build and nurture relationships with residents, families and stakeholders, being the person who listens and responds when things matter
  • Work with your Deputy, Administrator and support teams to turn daily operations into a seamless experience for both residents and staff

Why you will love working here

  • £60,000 per year plus excellent performance-related bonuses and additional profit-sharing bonuses, because your success directly benefits everyone
  • Relocation assistance if you need it, and we pay your full DBS disclosure and annual NMC PIN renewal, removing friction from your career
  • Up to 5 additional loyalty days added to your 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, so longevity is rewarded
  • Comprehensive induction and training from day one, with genuine pathways for career development, plus an Employee Assistance Programme to support your wellbeing
  • Blue Light Card enrolment paid for by us, unlocking discounts on holidays, days out and over 15,000 brands across the UK

Is this you?

  • You're registered with the CQC and have proven experience managing a nursing or residential home, with a genuine track record of working towards Outstanding ratings
  • You understand the regulations inside out and can translate them into practice without losing sight of the human side of care
  • You're a skilled communicator who builds trust with staff, residents, families and external professionals, and you stay calm when things get complex
  • You've got business sense: you know how to market a care service, understand the commercial realities of the sector, and can run a home that's both full and profitable
  • You're genuinely passionate about person-centred care and see management as a chance to shape how people experience their later years, not just a tick-box role
  • An NMC registration as a nurse is desirable but not essential; what matters more is your proven ability to lead and deliver
