Most manager roles in children's care ask you to keep the ship steady. This one asks you to transform young lives. We're looking for a leader who wants to run a 5-bed children's home where every day brings the chance to help young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs find their way back to childhood and build real futures
Imagine walking into work knowing that the clinical team - psychologists, occupational therapists, the whole joined-up picture - has your back. As Registered Manager, you won't be managing in isolation. You'll be part of a holistic service where every part of a young person's development is touched by specialists who actually talk to each other. That's rare. That changes outcomes
The small victories are the huge ones here. It might be a young person laughing at breakfast after weeks of silence. It might be them asking to stay for another year because they finally feel safe. You'll manage the day-to-day operations and own the Ofsted story, but what you're really doing is creating the conditions where traumatised kids can breathe, heal and grow into rounded adults. That's the job
You'll be supported from day one with a full 4-week induction through our Care Academy, and you won't be climbing this ladder alone. Most of our regional managers came up through our homes. Career progression here is real, and it starts now
What you will be doing
- Manage the day-to-day operations of a 5-bed children's home, ensuring it's a safe, secure and motivating environment for both staff and young people
- Own all Ofsted requirements and compliance, building on a Good or Outstanding foundation and continuously improving practice
- Lead your team with a committed, enthusiastic approach that models the care and professionalism your young people need to see
- Be actively involved in new referrals and placement decisions, ensuring the right fit for each young person coming through the door
- Work with our clinical team - psychologists, occupational therapists and others - to ensure every young person's developmental needs are being met holistically
Why you will love working here
- Up to £73,808 per annum total package: base salary of £51,331-£63,553, plus 10% annual bonus, £2,500 on-call bonus (approximately 10 weekends per year) and £1,400 attendance allowance, PLUS a 30% long-term incentive bonus accrued each year as a future lump sum
- Seven weeks' holiday per year because we mean it when we say you work hard and deserve proper time to recharge
- A full 4-week Care Academy induction so you start confident and supported, not drowning
- Flexible benefits: adjust your holiday allowance, pension and life insurance to suit your life, plus private health insurance, medical cover for opticians and dentists, high-street discounts and meals provided at work
- A genuine pathway to regional management roles, with most progression coming from within our group - this is a career, not just a job
- Employee assistance and wellbeing support to look after your own mental health while you're supporting others
- A £1,000 recommend-a-friend bonus every time you bring someone brilliant into the team
