Most residential care management roles pile on the paperwork and the stress with little support or recognition. We're different. This is your chance to step into a leadership position where you'll actually shape a home rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted, lead a team that genuinely cares, and grow your career with real investment from an organisation that backs you

Imagine walking into work knowing you're not just managing a rota - you're leading the adults who transform young people's lives every single day. You'll oversee a 3-bed home where the focus is relentless: safety, warmth, development and real change. Your team will look to you to set the tone, solve problems and make sure every young person in that home feels secure and valued. That's management with genuine meaning

Here's what sets this apart: the provider has built a track record of Ofsted ratings at Good or Outstanding across the whole service. They don't cut corners on training, safeguarding or support. You'll have access to funded professional development including fast-tracked Level 5 Leadership and Management qualifications - the kind of investment that changes your long-term career prospects. The on-call manager rota is real, but you're not on an island doing it

The Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm structure gives you a proper base, with additional hours only when the young people or the business genuinely need it. Paired with 6.6 weeks' annual leave, an extra week after 5 years' service, enhanced family support, a cash-back healthcare scheme, and a proper pension, this is a role designed for someone who wants to lead without burning out

What you will be doing

  • Lead and support your staff team to deliver high-quality residential care; manage performance, address challenges and foster a culture where people do their best work
  • Ensure the home remains a safe, caring and inclusive place for young people; champion their development, wellbeing and participation in education and activities
  • Hold responsibility for regulatory compliance; maintain detailed, organised records and ensure the home meets all legislation including the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014, RISCA and relevant Regulations
  • Attend professionals' meetings and formal proceedings; prepare reports, liaise with social workers, schools and other agencies, and represent the home with confidence and clarity
  • Lead on inspection readiness and work with inspectors; draw on your knowledge of the sector to demonstrate the home's strengths and respond to any areas for improvement
  • Participate in the on-call manager rota and respond to out-of-hours concerns with sound judgement and support for your team

Why you will love working here

  • Competitive salary plus sleep-in payments when you're on call - real money for real responsibility
  • 6.6 weeks' annual leave growing to 7.6 weeks after 5 years; enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption support; a proper pension scheme with auto-enrolment
  • Funded professional development: fast-tracked Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification funded by the organisation, plus ongoing support for your continued learning
  • A 'Pay Care Scheme' that gives you cash back for medical costs, a 24/7/365 Employee Assistance Programme, and access to hundreds of high street and online discounts through the Engage platform
