Most management roles in residential child care feel like you're fighting the system instead of leading a team. This isn't one of them. We're looking for a Registered Manager who wants to build something real - a home where young people genuinely thrive, and where the adults who work there actually feel valued doing it

You'll be leading a team that gets it. These aren't people who clock in and clock out; they're carers who chose this work because they want to change lives. Your job is to make sure they have what they need to do that brilliantly - the training, the support, the clarity about why every decision matters. Staff here say they've never been happier at work, and that's not accident; it's culture built from the top

The young people you'll be supporting are looked after children in the system. Every one of them deserves an adult who thinks differently about what's possible for them. As Registered Manager, you're the one setting the tone - the belief that positive outcomes aren't wishful thinking, they're what happens when you get the foundations right. You'll be their advocate, their standard-setter, the reason the home runs with compassion at its heart

This provider genuinely invests in people. They back their team members to develop to the limits of their own capability and ambitions. If you want to grow as a manager, they want you to. Training isn't a box to tick; it's how they build managers who can lead homes that actually work

What you will be doing

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the children's residential home, ensuring the young people receive safe, nurturing care that supports their development and wellbeing
  • Lead, support and develop your team - recruitment, induction, training, supervision and appraisals that help staff grow into their best selves
  • Ensure the home is compliant with all regulatory requirements and works to the standards that matter: safeguarding, quality of care, and positive outcomes for the young people
  • Be the visible, available leader - hands-on support for your team and a consistent presence for the young people in your care
  • Work with the wider network - social workers, schools, families, partner agencies - to plan and deliver care that's tailored to each young person's needs and circumstances

Why you will love working here

  • The chance to lead a home where staff actually want to come to work and where every decision is made in the best interest of the young people - not the spreadsheet
  • A provider who invests seriously in your development and career progression; you're not just filling a post, you're building a management career with real depth
  • A team environment where managers and team leaders make you feel valued and supported - no lone manager heroics, genuine partnership at every level
  • Competitive salary and package for a Registered Manager in children's residential care, with the backing of an established provider who understands what quality costs

Is this you?

  • You hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and are working towards or have achieved Level 5, because you're serious about management
  • You have substantial experience working in children's residential care - you know what good looks like and you've seen what happens when it's missing
  • You're registered with Ofsted as a Registered Manager, or you're eligible to register and ready to make that happen
  • You genuinely believe that every looked after child deserves better outcomes, and you're willing to do the work to make it real
  • You're a leader who brings people together rather than drives them - you want a team that feels supported, valued and part of something that matters
