Most deputy manager roles in residential care feel like firefighting from day one: reactive, stretched, unsupported. This one is different. You'll step into a leadership position where your team actually has the resources, training and development to thrive, which means the children in your care genuinely flourish too
Picture yourself leading a warm, structured home where every child feels genuinely known and valued. You're not drowning in paperwork or managing crisis after crisis. Instead, you're actively coaching your team, embedding best practices, and watching staff confidence grow because you've got their backs. That's what happens when a provider actually invests in their people
You'll report to the Registered Manager, but you're the heartbeat of day-to-day operations. You oversee care planning, supervise staff fairly and constructively, and spot where small changes make big differences. Every team meeting, every supervision session, every moment you lead by example shapes the culture. The children see a home where adults genuinely support each other, and they learn what safety and respect actually look like
This provider backs professional growth properly. They'll fund your QCF qualifications, invest in your induction, and reward long service because they know that stability in leadership directly improves outcomes for the young people. You're not just managing a shift rota; you're building something that lasts
