Most deputy manager roles in care ask you to do everything except actually develop your people and your career. You'll be drowning in admin, stuck in reactive mode, chasing your tail. This one is different: you'll step into a role where your leadership is genuinely valued, where training and development are built in from day one, and where you're part of a specialist team that actually knows how to support residents with complex needs and challenging behaviours
Picture yourself running a residential home where every resident's emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are properly understood and met. You're not just ticking boxes; you're coordinating a skilled team that's been trained in Positive Behavioural Support, implementing care plans that actually move the needle, and seeing residents progress towards a more meaningful daily life. The clinical expertise is there in-house, integrated into everything you do, so you're never left hanging when things get complex
You're leading staff who feel supported and developed, not worn out. You're conducting regular supervisions that matter, running team meetings where people feel heard, managing rotas and absences strategically rather than firefighting. You're working alongside a Service Manager who knows how to delegate, giving you real ownership over staff development, inductions, investigations and discipline. It's proper leadership, not just box-ticking
This provider invests heavily in growing their managers. You'll have access to the Advanced Management Development Programme if you're ready to step up further, or the Foundation Management Development Programme as you settle in. Holiday starts at 28 days inclusive of bank holidays. There's an Employee Assistance Programme for your own wellbeing, a refer-a-friend scheme worth £500, Choiceversary bonuses at 5, 10 and 15 years, Christmas vouchers, life insurance, and a monthly prize draw where frontline colleagues win £500 tax-free. You'll even get a paid day off on your birthday. Stream, the financial wellbeing app, is there to help you track earnings, save, access flexible pay and get real discounts
This is a home where residents live life to the full, with purposeful daily activities, regular social events, outings and holiday breaks built around what they actually enjoy. Your job is to make that happen by leading a team that genuinely cares. It's a close-knit community feeling, not a clinical machine
