Most care home support roles feel like you're just going through the motions: the same tasks, the same four walls, nobody noticing the difference you make. This is different. We're looking for someone who understands that keeping a home clean, fed and running smoothly isn't just work - it's the foundation that lets young people actually thrive here
Picture this: you arrive at the home in Redbridge and immediately feel the difference. The young people here aren't just residents - they're individuals with real lives unfolding under your care. A spotless kitchen means safe meal prep. A sanitised bathroom means you're actively protecting their health. A well-organised home means they can actually relax. You'd be the person making that possible, day in and day out
The team here gets it. They're not clocking in for a paycheck - they're invested in seeing young people flourish. When you maintain high standards of cleanliness, manage waste safely, and keep the home running like clockwork, you're giving the care staff the breathing room they need to do their best work. That's real impact, and it gets noticed
This provider invests in people who stay. Long-term service awards, professional development opportunities, and an Employee of the Month scheme aren't perks they forget about - they're how they show they value you. Work here, and you're building something worth staying for
What you will be doing
- Keep all allocated rooms immaculate - furniture, fittings, fabrics, carpets and equipment cleaned to the highest standard, with bathrooms and toilets receiving specialist attention for hygiene and infection control
- Manage waste disposal safely and correctly, following prescribed procedures and COSHH guidelines to keep the home safe and compliant
- Ensure rooms are odour-free and meet the health and safety standards the role demands, staying aware of care regulations that govern what you do
- Maintain strict confidentiality about the young people and the business at all times
Why you will love working here
- £12.80 per hour - paid fairly for skilled, essential work
- Long-term service awards and an Employee of the Month scheme that genuinely recognises your contribution
- Professional development opportunities so you can grow beyond this role if you want to
- Blue Light Card discount as a thank-you for the work you do
- Refer a Friend bonus scheme - build the team you want to work alongside
Is this you?
- Experience in a similar domestic or support role, or experience in a care or hospitality setting - though genuine enthusiasm and reliability matter just as much as a perfect CV
- You understand that cleanliness and safety aren't luxuries - they're essential to how young people can feel secure and cared for
- You're reliable, thorough, and take pride in standards that stay high even when nobody's watching
- You're someone who respects confidentiality and can work respectfully around vulnerable young people
