You'll be the backbone of a busy residential care home in Redbridge where residents depend on you for comfort, safety and the small daily dignities that matter most. You'll help keep those spaces safe and welcoming, alongside maintaining all the systems that keep a care facility running: weekly and monthly safety checks on boilers, lifts and fire equipment, handling stock control and deliveries, minor repairs and decoration. You'll also take the lead in induction training for new staff, explaining the building layout and fire procedures, which means you're trusted to shape how people settle in

What you will be doing
- Cook and prepare meals for residents, and manage the kitchen to safe, hygienic standards
- Maintain and clean the building, grounds, furniture and equipment; carry out routine safety checks weekly and monthly on systems like boilers, lifts and fire alarms, and coordinate external compliance checks like LOLER testing
- Drive residents to medical appointments, social activities and other outings as required
- Control and order stock, receive and check deliveries, manage banking and purchase small items the home needs
- Help induct new staff by training them on building layout, fire procedures and home policies, and contribute to health and safety across the home
- Maintain confidentiality, communicate well with colleagues and residents, and carry out any additional duties the home asks of you
