Most care home jobs treat domestic staff like they're invisible. But the truth is: without you, nothing works. This warm and welcoming nursing home gets it, which is why they're looking for someone who'll take real pride in creating the clean, comfortable, odour-free spaces where residents actually want to live, and they'll treat you like the professional you are

Picture this: you arrive at a spacious, comfortable home where residents are cared for 24 hours a day. Your job is to make sure every room, every corridor, every bathroom is spotless and welcoming. You're not just pushing a vacuum; you're creating an environment where older adults can live with dignity. That matters. Every single day

You'll be part of a team that recognises domestic work as the essential foundation of good care. Report a broken fitting? They listen and act. Spot something that needs maintenance? You flag it, and it gets fixed. Your eye for detail and your standards don't go unnoticed here. The home tracks long-term service and actually rewards loyalty

This role gives you the chance to build real professional credentials. You'll work with COSHH safety guidelines, understand care standards regulations, and develop skills that matter. Plus, the refer-a-friend scheme means if you know other good people, you can bring them in and get rewarded for it. Growth, recognition, and the satisfaction of doing work that genuinely improves lives every day

What you will be doing

  • Vacuum rooms and corridors, empty waste bins, and keep all spaces odour-free and hygienic
  • Clean bathrooms and toilets to the highest standards, with strict attention to germs and infestation control guidelines
  • Dust, sweep and mop all floor surfaces, clean glass and mirrors, and deep-clean assigned rooms including furniture, fittings, fabrics and carpets
  • Spot equipment or fittings that need maintenance and report them promptly so they get fixed
  • Store cleaning materials safely, dispose of waste bags correctly, and keep your own workspace organised
  • Work confidentially and stay familiar with COSHH and care standards regulations that govern the role

Why you will love working here

  • £12.30 per hour - honest pay for honest work
  • Long-term service awards that actually recognise your loyalty and commitment
  • Professional development opportunities to build real credentials in care environments
  • A Blue Light Card for exclusive discounts and perks
  • Refer a friend scheme - bring good people into the team and both of you benefit

Is this you?

  • Are you someone who takes genuine pride in a job done well, even when the work is physical and repetitive?
  • Can you follow health and safety guidelines carefully, including COSHH procedures and waste disposal protocols?
  • Do you have an eye for detail - spotting dirt, odours, broken fittings and things that don't meet standard?
  • Are you reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team in a 24-hour care environment?
  • Can you keep confidential information to yourself and treat residents with respect?
