Most care jobs feel like you're just going through the motions, keeping the wheels turning. This one is different: you'll be the heart of a home where young people with real challenges get a genuine second chance at happiness. If you want a role where your work actually transforms lives, where a tidy room and a hot meal can be the turning point in a young person's week, this is it
Picture this: you've prepared a meal that one of the young people actually sits down to without stress. You've got the laundry sorted, the home spotless and welcoming, and suddenly a teenager who arrived angry and guarded is laughing at the dinner table. These are the small victories that matter enormously. Our homes work with young people navigating social, emotional and mental health needs, and every single thing you do - from the quality of the food to the warmth of a tidy, safe space - sends them the message that they're worth caring for
You'll work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, so you get your evenings and weekends back. You're not on call. You're not doing sleep-ins. But in those 32.5 hours a week, you'll be doing work that matters: meal planning and preparation for the young people and staff, managing the laundry, keeping the home to the high standards that make it a real home rather than just a building. You'll work as part of a team, and your colleagues will genuinely have your back
The salary starts at £27,666, rising to £28,569. On top of that, you'll earn a £1,400 attendance allowance (assuming good attendance) and a £2,000 regional allowance. That's a real package that reflects real value. You get seven weeks' holiday a year. You get a full four-week induction through the organisation's Care Academy. And if you want to progress into a Residential Support Worker role, the team will support you to get there
