On Wednesday, you're leading a small refurbishment project that transforms a tired communal space into somewhere the young people actually want to spend time. You'll work across multiple sites in the Crewe area, so no two days feel identical. The homes rely on you to respond quickly when something breaks, to spot problems before they become serious, and to take pride in leaving things better than you found them. You'll be part of a team that genuinely cares about the environment these young people live in, and your skills are valued as much as anyone else's on that team
The role offers a proper Monday to Friday routine, 9am to 5pm, so you've got genuine work-life balance. What you will be doing
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance across multiple children's homes in the Crewe area
- Plan and deliver painting, decorating and basic building work to keep properties safe and welcoming
- Respond quickly and professionally to maintenance issues as they arise
- Support larger refurbishment and improvement projects that refresh and upgrade the homes
- Work independently and manage your own workload effectively across different sites

- Is this you: you've got real hands-on experience in property maintenance, building work, or a similar practical trade, and you've built up a solid toolkit you're proud of
- You've got good all-round DIY and maintenance skills, and you know how to solve problems when they don't go to plan
- You're reliable, self-motivated and trustworthy - the kind of person who notices what needs doing and gets on with it
- You've got a full UK driving licence and you're happy to travel between different sites
- You can work in a fast-paced environment, stay focused, and pay close attention to detail
