Most domestic jobs feel invisible: you clean, you leave, nobody notices. But in a residential care home, every spotless room, every hygienic bathroom, every welcoming hallway directly impacts the wellbeing and dignity of the people living there. This is a role where your standards matter, your pride shows, and your work is genuinely appreciated
Picture walking into a home where residents feel safe and cared for in clean, bright spaces you've created. You're not just pushing a mop - you're maintaining the infection control that protects vulnerable people, restocking the trolleys that keep everything running smoothly, and helping create an environment where both residents and staff feel valued. That's the daily reality here
You'll work as part of a wider housekeeping team that has your back, with a Head Housekeeper who directs your work and supports your development. There's structure, clear tasks, and genuine recognition that you're an essential member of the care home team - not an afterthought. Your reliability and attention to standards matter here
The home is serious about looking after its people. You get 28 days annual leave (pro rata), free on-site parking so your commute is stress-free, a company pension, life insurance, and access to comprehensive training through their e-learning platform. There's even a Refer-a-Friend Scheme where you can earn up to £750 for bringing good people into the team
What you will be doing
- Carry out all cleaning duties to the highest standard, following the Head Housekeeper's direction and maintaining hygienic, welcoming spaces throughout the home
- Keep infection prevention and control at the heart of everything - following COSHH regulations, using PPE appropriately, and safe working practices that protect residents and colleagues
- Re-stock cleaning trolleys, maintain organised storage areas, and ensure all equipment is used safely and stored correctly
- Work independently and as part of the housekeeping team, prioritising tasks effectively and supporting colleagues with additional duties as the home needs
Why you will love working here
- Bank contract with flexible working - shifts 8:00am to 3:00pm, weekdays and weekends, around your life
- £12.71 per hour, 28 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata), plus life insurance, company pension, and free on-site parking
